Am I bothered?

Right. So the post from last night seemed excessively melodramatic. Here's something else more mudane for a less cheesy read.

I've actually sat at my computer for the
last half a day with my work in front of me and not successfully read one single word. Between Facebook and Youtube, there just isn't anytime to do any work. Coupled with the fact that the end of year already happened (half way through this semester), motivation just hasn't been a factor in my life of late.

So we did our end of year paper on monday. Its a synoptic paper that encompasses the five year course (I'm only a third year btw *shock*) so
imagine my irritation whilst sitting the paper. Anyway, so that's over and done with, but I'm still stuck with work that is relevant to that exam...had the exam been set at a later date. Consequently, my year group went into that exam having only been made to learn three quarters of the years worth of material....*scream with me*.

Then I find out that I've been relegated to Oldham DGH for the rest of the year....not to my liking coz it was my FIFTH choice. Did you hear what I said....FIFTH
!!

I honestly don't know how the allocation works at med school...its just soooo random and unfair. And then there's the mark I received for the project I did in February...average. How can the supervisor even pretend to know what mark I deserve when he hardly noticed I was even there and didn't even care for following my progress. He also went on holiday halfway through the project!!!

So to answer the question....am I bothered? YES I AM!!!

Dammit................

It'll be that time again in about a weeks time. I write this with a vivid memory of that day at the forefront of my mind....

The palpable silence of this room is broken momentarily by the alarm that sounds on her monitor. He jolts upright from a slumped sleeping position in the corner of her room...panicked...perhaps even afraid. From that stark white corner, he stares intensely at the monitor, frantically searching the blinking numbers for any cue to sound the alarm bells. One breath, a second and then the third. And then relief.

He has been told the inevitable, but maintains hope. His naivety unsurprising even to himself as he watches the watch, waiting for the others to return...hopefully in time...to see.

He hears footsteps. A familiar silhouette enters the room and offers to relieve him of the watch. He gratefully stands up, after four hours in that chair, and without stretching, leaves the room with a stumbling gait. He lies down in the waiting room and drifts off to sleep....

....a hand on his shoulder wakes him. He opens his eyes and sees the expression on a face....
"tsk...dammit...too late"

Beginnings

So here's the low down. Not only have I got Facebook and Twitter (hinting lack of social life bleh0 I find myself writing the first of many entries here...Penned n' Simple

Welcome all, to perhaps the one convincing piece of evidence that I have finally become, and will forever remain, I surmise, a bored friendless individual. Notwithstanding the fact that I already have limited social skills, this introspective exercise will perhaps only serve to exemplify the inadequacies that make up some of my being or a comparison of my life to the life of the boy in the image....one can only hope.

Having said that, I will purport the stereotype of that of a blogger and describe the important as well as the mundane events of my existence. The notable as well as the insignificant, the remarkable and the unremarkable, treat it as you would anything else you normally read. Be it light reading or comedy, read and enjoy, and I hope you gain a sense of hilarity through it for my life is definitely a comic strip of humour-filled cliches and accidental occurrences.
